Plouve Tower
Last update: 15 February 2023, 11:41
WHERE: at the crossroads between Festaz and Torino streets.
HISTORY: it was one of the front towers of the Roman "Augusta Praetoria", and during the Middle Ages was occupied by a noble family who took the name of the place "Plovia", one of the oldest toponyms in the city of Aosta, who resided there until 1334. Currently, the few remains of the tower emerge in city traffic, since in the mid-twentieth century a gap was practiced to allow vehicular and pedestrian traffic to reach via Torino, then at the beginning of its urban expansion.
