WHERE: in Tourneuve street, at the crossroads with Monte Solarolo street.
HISTORY: it stands on a Roman square base, and was built in the second half of the thirteenth century, constituting one of the rare cases of cylindrical towers of the city. The property belonged to the powerful family of the Viscounts Challant, who ceded it in 1295, and is characterized by a peculiar inclination towards the west. Nowadays, of the ancient complex of Tourneuve only the tower remains, but some archaeological investigations attest traces of the previous presence of a fort.
