The Town Walls

WHERE: roman walls remainings are still visible today in the streets: Hôtel des Monnaies, Carducci, Carrel (at the bus terminal), Monte Solarolo, Abbé Chanoux, Festaz (at the crossroads with Vevey street) and Guido Rey.
HISTORY: the walls delimiting Augusta Praetoria, forming a rectangle of 724 to 572 meters were made, inside, by a layer of river pebbles and, outside, of blocks of travertine.
